Arginine induces the resistance of postharvest jujube fruit against Alternaria rot

چکیده
Abstract In order to explore the effects of arginine (Arg) treatment on postharvest rot jujube caused by Alternaria alternata (A. alternata), winter was treated with different concentrations Arg (0, 20, 200, and 1000 μmol/L). Results showed that substantially inhibited expansion lesion diameter, jujubes 200 μmol/L had smallest diameter. vitro experiments demonstrated could not inhibit spore germination mycelial growth A. alternata. Further experimental results reduced production rate O2–. H2O2 content improved activities superoxide dismutase, catalase, peroxidase, ascorbate peroxidase in comparison control; enhanced chitinase β-1,3-glucanase. Furthermore, significantly increased activity phenylalamine ammonia lyase contents flavonoids, phenolics, lignin. indicated that, although directly pathogenic fungi as a fungicide, it can induce resistance maintaining balance reactive oxygen species, increasing pathogenesis-related protein, promoting phenylpropane metabolism fruit tissue. Therefore, be novel measure for inducing rot.

Soft Rot of Rhizopus oryzae as a Postharvest Pathogen of Banana Fruit in Korea
Soft rot on banana fruit caused by Rhizopus oryzae was identified for the first time in Korea. Colonies were white to light brown and formed numerous sporangiospores. Optimum temperature for mycelial growth was 30℃. Sporangia were globose and 30~200 µm. Sporangiophores were usually straight, 8~20 µm, and rhizoids usually in groups of 3~5. Columella were globose to sub-globose and 90~110 µm. Spo...
متن کاملThe complex jujube genome provides insights into fruit tree biology
The jujube (Ziziphus jujuba Mill.), a member of family Rhamnaceae, is a major dry fruit and a traditional herbal medicine for more than one billion people. Here we present a high-quality sequence for the complex jujube genome, the first genome sequence of Rhamnaceae, using an integrated strategy. The final assembly spans 437.65 Mb (98.6% of the estimated) with 321.45 Mb anchored to the 12 pseud...
متن کاملControl of rhizopus rot of peaches with postharvest
Rhizopus rot caused by Rhizopus stolonifer is a potentially serious postharvest 1 disease of Canadian-grown peaches. Several new fungicides are effective against brown rot 2 (Monilinia fructicola) of peaches, but little is known of their postharvest efficacies against R. 3 stolonifer. Harvested peaches were arranged in trays, individually punctured once and 4 co-treated with a suspension of bot...

In the present work, survival of the Mediterranean fruit fly Ceratitis capitata (Wiedemann) (Diptera: Tephritidae) on artificially infested ‘Clemenules’ clementine mandarins (Citrus reticulata Blanco) was assessed on fruit subjected to integrated quarantine treatments consisting of irradiation with X-rays at doses of 0 (control), 30, 54, and 164 Gy followed by exposure to 1°C for 0 (control), 3...
متن کاملPostharvest internal browning of pineapple fruit originates at the phloem.
A typical symptom of postharvest chilling injury (PCI) in pineapple fruit (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr.) is internal browning (IB) near the fruit core. Since vascular bundles (VBs) are localized to this region, it was hypothesized that the VBs might be the site of IB. To test this, the anatomy and histochemistry of VBs during chilling stress in four pineapple cultivars with different levels of sen...
